Major
Responsibilities
Installing,
supporting and maintaining new and existing desktops, printers, scanners etc.
Setting
up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Creating
and troubleshooting of internet connectivity and e-mail accounts
(Re)Installing
operating system, Anti- virus and Outlook
Lift,
carry and move components like workstations, servers, network equipment’s,
peripherals, and other ancillary equipment’s
Resolving
faults, whether it is a major system crash or part of daily operation
Collaborating
with Information Services members to support end-users
Managing
and keeping internal networks running
Required
Skills and knowledge:
Desktop
and laptop installation and problem resolution in a Windows XP environment
A
thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
networking
Knowledge
and understanding of VPN connectivity
Common
understanding of TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, etc.
Excellent
knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting of HP clients
Be
able to connect the machines using Wireless Access Points
